Welcome to the homepage of a local travel agency run by Son Chanthoeun, you can call me Son, and thanks for your interest in the truly amazing temples of northern Cambodia. I am a university-educated Englishand Khmer speaking guide, licensed and accredited by the Ministry of Tourism. I have worked as a guide, interpreter and driver for around ten years. I want to have a chance to run a local travel agency.

about Cambodia

Since 2001 I have also worked as a staff member for the Greater Angkor Project, an Australian-French-Cambodian archaeological team that is investigating the fall of Angkor using a range of different methods.

I have worked as a driver, interpreter and field supervisor on this project, and my range of experiences with 'hands-on' archaeology means that I am able to guide you to places that are little-known, off the beaten trail, and provide information and background about the temples of Angkor that you won't get from the average guide or guidebook.

In addition to my unique work experience with archaeological projects, I have a university degree in English and have completed the Ministry's formal training and courses for accredited Siem Reap tour guide.

I know what I'm talking about and won't just recite to you what's in the guidebooks!

Whether you need a full tour guiding service or just a driver to take you around, I offer personalized, custom-designed tours and itineraries tailored to suit your particular interests, your schedule, and your budget. I am also pleased to be able to offer my services as an interpreter, fixer or field assistant for any academic, development, film and TV or other projects taking place in Siem Reap or neighboring provinces.

It's widely acknowledged that getting a good guide is essential to the quality of your experience at Angkor, and you should be sure to hire someone who is a licensed member of the Khmer Angkor Tour Guide Association, like I am (the law forbids people who are not properly accredited from guiding you within the actual temples). The best thing to do is contact me so we can start to discuss what your requirements are!
